Elena Damiani, “Inside the Whale”, FaMa Gallery, Verona

13 January 2012 - 17 March 2012

Artists: Gabriele Beveridge, Elena Damiani, Koki Tanaka
Curator: Matteo Pollini

The exhibition Inside the Whale is an investigation on the experience of the everyday and the ordinary through objects, imagery and history. With their work, the artists in show explore, break, re-arrange and link various fragments of the world of phenomena triggering alternative visual and textual
narratives; They scrutinize Orwell’s whale – a metaphor of the common man’s place of enclosure in the warmth of familiar setting – by acknowledging its existence and testing solutions for new production of knowledge.
