The show will host the works of 38 internationally renowned artists, most of whom were born in the 1960s and 1970s in different Mediterranean countries. The exhibition will present a selection of existing works and a number of pieces especially created for the occasion. Some question the notions of identity, citizenship, the self and the other, memory and archives. Several seek to share the experience of emigration, exile and displacement. Others focus on the Mediterranean landscape. What do they say about the condition of the world and the changes to come? What do they tell us about our identity in an age of globalisation? How do they depict personal tales interfaced with history? The show will present thirty eight projects including painting, installation, sculpture, film, video and photography.
