Further images
In this new series of Textile works , artist Filwa Nazer continue to investigate themes of embodied experience using the tools of pattern making techniques , hand stitching & sewing to explore notions of the body as home and it’s relation to emotional , spatial and phenomenological experience.
Grappling with the spatial imaginary and the idea of body / space as interchangeable; the artist creates abstract emotional topographies of various types of stitching ; that juxtapose and layer a map of her home with technical patterns from personal garments that reference parts of the body and are used as spatial elements.
"Lull" are two large double sided , suspended works made of transparent tulle and tarlatan . Here Nazer engages the visitor in an active communication through a bodily projection onto the transparent works . The two works are delicate in nature , offering an invitation to step closer and be immersed in countless threads attempting a chaotic alignment.
