Blanc Habiba takes place during the Second World War, when the Tunisian town of Gabès becomes the scene of a silent struggle against German occupation.
Through the stories of the wise old woman Habiba, the film reveals a little-known part of the history of occupied Gabès. It tells the story of the solidarity between Habiba and her Jewish Tunisian neighbors, of people of different faiths and cultural backgrounds building a bridge together across the abyss of war. An ode to resilience, friendship and love in difficult times, with Malek Gnaoui's 90-year-old grandmother in the lead role.
