Hedi Turki's canvas mirrors the diverse hues of Tunisia. The ochres of the sands and mud-brick structures, the ethereal blues of the sea, and the fiery flashes of orange create a vivid palette that captures the essence of the landscapes he draws inspiration from. The choice of palette seems to be a deliberate and intricate part of his artistic language. A language that extends to a vast poetics in the different periods he has lived through. These colours not only depict the physical reality of the Tunisian environment but also convey a cultural resonance of the places where he was born and raised.

His abstract prodigy lies in his ability to transcend landscapes, hues, and sensations into the realm of the abstract. "He develops something more important which I call chiaroscuro in the abstract state, what is unspeakable becomes communicable through the simple opposition of formal and coloured melody in contrasting intensity" as Paul Gauthier says. This creates a visual symphony where the intensity of colours and the interplay of light and shadow become a language in itself. Hedi Turki's body of work depicts a fusion of vibrant colours and abstract brilliance, a testament to his mastery in capturing the essence of Tunisia while transcending the boundaries of representation.
