Nazer began her creative journey as a fashion designer and graduated from Milan’s Marangoni school of Fashion and design. Her work revolves around exploring emotional and psychological identity within spatial and social contexts. The multidisciplinary visual artist employs textiles , collages, digital prints, and installations as mediums to delve into the ever-evolving boundaries between public and private spaces. Drawing on her experience in the fashion industry, she crafts textile sculptures and geometric embroideries that evoke deconstructed clothing patterns and architectural drawings.
Her works are featured in prominent public collections, including the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, UAE; Saudi Ministry of Culture, Riyadh; the Al-Mansouria Foundation, Jeddah; the Jameel Arts Centre, Dubai; and the Greenbox Museum of Contemporary Art from Saudi Arabia, Amsterdam as well as numerous private collections worldwide.
Filwa participated in several exhibitions including Asia Pacific Triennial , Brisbane Australia (2024) ,State of Fashion Biennale, Holland (2024), DESERT X, Al Ula (2024), Perceptible Rhythms, Alternative temporalities at Middle east Institute Washington (2022), La Biennale de Lyon, France (2022), Diriyah Biennale (2021), Saudi Modern, Jeddah (2021).
