Ciels, terres, mers, feux, a two-person exhibition with Sara Ouhaddou & Younès Rahmoun at the Centre d'art contemporain de Châteauvert. Curated by Véronique Collard-Bovy, the exhibition considers the Mediterranean as a space of exchange and continual transformation. Bringing together sky, land, sea, and fire, it unfolds as a landscape where histories, materials, beliefs, and gestures are continuously reshaped through movement, transmission, and encounter.
Through their respective practices, Sara Ouhaddou and Younès Rahmoun reactivate ancestral knowledge and craft traditions, drawing on weaving, glassmaking, ritual, and vernacular forms to create new conversations between past and present. Together, their works imagine the Mediterranean not as a fixed geography, but as a living territory shaped by shared histories and ongoing transformations.
Sara Ouhaddou's practice has long explored the transmission of knowledge through collaboration with artisans, revealing how traditional techniques can become sites of experimentation, dialogue, and renewal. In Ciels, terres, mers, feux, her work continues this reflection, opening new perspectives on material culture and the ways collective memory can be carried into the present.
